Brow pigment work is a form of cosmetic tattooing, with risks including infection and allergic reactions. Pigment can be difficult to remove. Tell the practitioner about medicines, allergies, skin conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and existing brow pigment. Suitability needs an individual check; ask your health professional when unsure.

During your appointment

Talk through the treatment and your preferences with the therapist before you begin.

• Review suitability, existing pigment and your brow preferences.
• Agree the shape, colour and technique before any pigment work begins.
• Review written aftercare and confirm whether and when another visit is needed.

Before you arrive

Discuss the intended shape, colour, technique, hygiene practices and consent before treatment. Share previous brow work and relevant health information. Ask for preparation instructions in advance, and do not stop prescribed medicines on your own.

After your visit

Follow the practitioner's written care and follow-up instructions. Ask about cleansing, makeup, sun exposure and swimming while the skin heals. Do not pick healing skin. Seek medical advice if you suspect an infection or have a severe, worsening or persistent reaction.
